Milan working on surprise January deal for Bournemouthโ€™s Lloyd Kelly

The powers that be at AC Milan have identified a surprise target to reinforce the clubโ€™s backline with a view to the 2nd half of the season.

The stopper in the sights of the board at San Siro? Lloyd Kelly. For those not familiar with his name, Kelly is a 25-year-old central defender, who is currently plying his trade in the Premier League, with Bournemouth.

The Englishman has featured from the off in five of Bournemouthโ€™s ten league outings across the term to date, albeit with his availability having been limited by a niggling calf issue.

Nevertheless, his performances when fit have been of an impressive nature, so much so that Kelly could be in line for a move to one of European footballโ€™s heavyweights following the turn of the year.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Milan are working on a deal to sign Kelly in January as they look to reinforce their project with younger players This comes amid something of an injury crisis at the heart of Stefano Pioliโ€™s backline, after both Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrino picked up long-term blows against Napoli last weekend.

Milan could yet face competition for Kelly, though, with it added that rivals Juventus are โ€˜also interested and informed on conditions of the dealโ€™.
