Milan’s Stefano Pioli set to win Panchina d’Oro award

Milan manager Stefano Pioli is set to win the Panchina d’Oro award for his contributions to helping the Rossoneri win the Serie A last season.

While things may not be as good as they were last season for Milan, they are slowly turning things around now. But even if they don’t win the Scudetto this season, moments from last season have well and truly entered the history books.

As per Marco Conterio, Pioli is expected to win the Panchina d’Oro award later today and the award is given by coaches in Serie A and Serie B to managers in Italy who have performed the best across a season. The 2020/21 edition of the award was given to the then Inter boss Antonio Conte, but Pioli is set to win it for his Scudetto win.

Max Allegri has won the award four times in his career and Carlo Ancelotti has won it twice, with Conte himself winning it four times. This will be the first time that Pioli will win the Panchino d’oro and a strong case can be made for the fact that he deserves it.
