Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis confirms Victor Osimhen is nearing contract renewal

Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis has confirmed that club striker Victor Osimhen is close to signing a new deal with the club.

The Partenopei have previously held talks to make sure that the striker extends his deal at the club, but previous attempts haven’t worked out. Meetings with Osimhen’s agents have been held, but nothing has been materialised and there has been talk of Osimhen having previously pulled out of talks.

De Laurentiis recently spoke to the press during the awarding of the Campania Felix award (via TMW) and he was asked about the situation of the 24-year-old Nigerian and he revealed that Osimhen is close to signing the deal which was to be signed in the summer.

He said: “For Osimhen, we are at signing of the contract that was pending this summer.”

There has been talk previously about the terms of the deal and it seems likely that Napoli will include a release clause in the deal, with his current deal running out in the summer of 2025.
