Napoli considering move for Antonio Conte

Napoli are interested in the possibility of landing Antonio Conte and see him as a potential replacement for manager Rudi Garcia.

The Partenopei dropped out of the top four this past weekend after a defeat to Fiorentina, who climbed above them. After a brief spell of resurgence, Napoli are back facing issues under Garcia once again.

Corriere della Sera state that Aurelio de Laurentiis is angry about the situation and he is disappointed by the way Garcia is operating with the side. Garcia’s time is currently running out and his position at the helm of affairs at the club is very much in the balance.

Conte is of keen interest to De Laurentiis and if the ex-Tottenham accepts some demands, he could actually arrive at the club very soon.

After the loss to Fiorentina, Garcia spoke to De Laurentiis and explained some reasons for the defeat. He took responsibility of the loss but still defended his ideas. Yesterday, the meeting continued at a hotel and there was an attempt made to understand if there is room for recovery under Garcia. A lot of the higher-ups in the meeting opted for a sacking of Garcia, but De Laurentiis vetoed as he wants to wait for two more games.

If Garcia does indeed leave, Conte will become a very concrete option and the fact that he is a free agent will only boost his candidacy.
