Napoli are interested in the possibility of signing Celta Vigo starlet Gabri Veiga this summer.
A host of other clubs have been linked with the 21-year-old Spanish central midfielder and La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported today that Veiga is expected to depart the club this summer and this is expected to have been his last season in a Celta Vigo shirt.
If Piotr Zielinski leaves Napoli this summer, Viega is likely to be the leading candidate too replace him. Napoli have a good relationship with Celta Vigo from their deal for Stanislav Lobotka some years ago and this can prove vital in a potential move for the 21-year-old.
Zielinski’s contract runs out in the summer of 2024 and Napoli are trying to hand him a new deal on lesser wages than what he currently earns. His future will be defined in the next few weeks and Viega will be more certain about his future in the next few days. If a move for Veiga doesn’t work out, Napoli are likely to make a move for Udinese’s Lazar Samardžić.
