Napoli preparing January move for Udinese’s Lazar Samardžić

Serie A giants Napoli are keen on landing Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardžić, who was previously linked with a move to other Italian giants.

The Serbian seemed close to joining Inter in the summer but the move turned complex later into the stages and it fell through. Juventus have been linked with the midfielder, who seems to have fallen out with manager Gabriele Cioffi.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported today that with Eljif Elmas having left the club already to undergo a medical with RB Leipzig, Napoli see Samardžić as a key replacement for the departing North Macedonian. The operation is seen as feasible by the Partenopei because they have received €25 million from Leipzig.

Napoli are currently confident about signing the Serbian, but Udinese don’t want to let the midfielder depart. Napoli believe they can also afford the 21-year-old’s wages. Udinese see him as a key starter and aren’t likely to sell him in January, but Napoli are preparing a move already.
