Lazio are interested in signing Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski but the Partenopei are set to hand him a new deal soon.
Zielinski’s current deal at Napoli runs out in the summer of 2024 and he was linked with a move to West Ham last summer. Alfredo Pedulla has now reported that Maurizio Sarri, who coached him at Empoli, is keen to bring him to the Olimpico in the summer transfer window.
Sarri does not want to disturb a player who is doing well though, with Napoli keen to offer a new deal worth €2.7 million per season. It is lesser than what he currently earns but the Pole will consider the offer regardless and it is possible that he signs a new deal despite lesser money on offer. Otherwise, he would like to leave this summer and he would consider an offer from Lazio.
This season, Zielinski has contributed to 12 goals in 36 games. Under Sarri at Empoli and Napoli combined, he played 124 games in all competitions and contributed to 23 goals.
