Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has expressed joy and disbelief at his 17th placed Ballon Dโor finish, with the results having come out recently.
Kvaratskhelia enjoyed a spectacular season, as Napoli won the Serie A and reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League. His rise has been superb, with Napoliโs signing of the winger hailed as one of the best pieces of business the club has done in years.
He was handed the 17th position in the Ballon Dโor rankings, as he scored 12 goals and racked up 13 assists last season and he contributed to six goals in the Champions League as well.
Kvaratskhelia spoke to Sky Italia about the finish and he said: ย โItโs somethingย special to be here, I couldnโt even imagine being here one dayย . Itโs a pleasureย to be together with the greatest football players and to be part of it.โ
The Georgian had initially struggled to hit form early in the season but he is now back in his usual rhythm and has recovered his lost momentum. In the Serie A this season, he has three goals and four assists in nine games, with Napoli yet to match their form and grace from last season.
