Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s solo goal against Atalanta has been celebrated worldwide and Napoli’s coach Luciano Spalletti saw some Diego Maradona’s resemblances in it, as he has confirmed in an interview for RadioKissKiss.
“You can say he has scored a goal worth of Maradona. He was the football God but Kvara is on the good path”.
“He touches the ball so frequently, you’ll never know where he’ll go and he’ll go past you while out of the corner of his eye he might also see a team mate to assist”.
Since the beginning of the season, Kvaratskhelia has scored 13 goals and provided 15 assist across all competitions with 11 goals and 11 assists in Serie A. The goal against Atalanta saw the player leave three defenders on the floor after changing directions quickly.
He has established himself as one of the best players in the league, if not this season’s MVP, and undoubtedly he’s the most important player for Napoli alongside Victor Osimhen.
As reported by Opta, the two have been involved in 43 of 84 Napoli goals in all competitions this season: that is the 51% of the total goals scored by the Partenopei.
