There is bad news for Napoli as Victor Osimhen has picked up a muscular injury while on international duty, club confirmed via statement.
The striker suffered a problem in his left adductor and that injury will be reassessed next week with further exams. Osimhen will miss the next Serie A game against Milan that is scheduled for Sunday and he’s likely to miss the game against Lecce too.
Napoli have not provided an official timing for his return but the fear is that Osimhen might miss the two Champions League games against Milan. The first leg is scheduled for April 12th.
Sky Sport report that it is likely that he won’t be recovering in less than 15/20 days, meaning that he’s in doubt for the second leg too scheduled for April 18th.
Osimhen is the current Serie A top scorer as he has scored 21 goals in the league, netting a goal every 91 minutes on average, as reported by Opta.
His place in the starting line-up over the next games will probably be taken by Giovanni Simeone as Giacomo Raspadori has started to train with the squad this week after a muscular injury.
