Newcastle United not interested in Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo

Premier League side Newcastle United have no interest in signing Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo, despite previous links.

Zaniolo’s current situation at Roma is uncertain, with the player yet to agree terms over a new deal with his current contract expiring in the summer of 2024.

Alfredo Pedulla has reported about the 23-year-old’s situation, stating that nothing is moving between Roma and Zaniolo currently. The situation is on stand-by and their last meeting took place between September and October.

The report goes on to state that talk of interest from Newcastle is essentially ‘fake news’, with the player giving profound thought about the possibility of signing a new deal with the Giallorossi. The Roman outfit would have to shell out over €4 million per season to have a chance of keeping Zaniolo.

There is a possibility that talks and further developments can arrive only by the summer. Juventus and Milan hold an interest in the Italian, but the situation is yet to yield any clear outcome. Depending on how things progress in the next few months, Zaniolo could indeed end up leaving Roma.
