Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Verratti close to Al Ahli move

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti is close to joining Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli, as was previously expected.

Verratti has been linked with a move to both Roma and Juventus this summer. The Frenchman had a telephonic conversation with Jose Mourinho but his high wage demands meant that he could never move to the Serie A.

Corriere della Sera state that a move to Al Ahli is quite close for the midfielder, who initially seemed to be heading to Al Hilal. But Al Ahli have an agreement in principle with the player, who wants the switch. An agreement with Paris Saint-Germain is yet to be reached, with the Parisiens demanding over the €30 million fee that Al Ahli have initially offered.

The Saudi outfit have already confirmed the arrival of Merih Demiral from Atalanta in the last few hours and they could be heading towards another major coup involving Italian football. They have already signed Roger Ibanez, Allan Saint-Maximin and ex-Manchester City star RIyad Mahrez.
