Rafael Leão edges closer to Milan renewal

Star forward Rafael Leao expected to agree on a contract extension with Milan after his former club Lille came to terms to pay Sporting.

According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport via TuttomercatoWeb, Leao’s former club Lille is ready to pay his childhood club Sporting Lisbon a total of €22 million after the Portuguese outfit sentenced the player to pay as he pushed out for free to join the Ligue 1 side following an event of fans storming into the field.

Meanwhile, due to his occurrence, the Rossoneri couldn’t progress with the signing of a new deal with the 23-year-old star man as things stalled because of legal issues. However, both Milan and Lille have reportedly come to an agreement to resolve the problem as soon as possible.

Leao will continue at Milan for at least another five years where he is enjoying life and fame. A contract worth around €7 million per year will be signed by the Portuguese star as soon as Lille pay the amount they owe to Sporting.
