Rasmus Højlund proves vital as Atalanta beat Cremonese

Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta picked up a vital 3-1 win over Cremonese at the Giovanni Zini and Rasmus Højlund’s contributions proved vital.

La Dea, who are at sixth in the table, increasing the distance between themselves and Juventus with the win, picking up their second consecutive win since the start of 2023. Højlund’s assist in the second half was vital to La Dea taking the lead in the second half, as the Dane had not started the game.

Duvan Zapata had started upfront and the Colombian couldn’t do much. Højlund came on and minutes later, he held the ball up, beat a defender and managed to set up Jeremie Boga at the back post. The ex-Sassuolo man found the back of the net easily, handing La Dea the lead.

It was his third assist of the season and he already has seven goals in the league campaign for Atalanta. The manner in which he created that goal could well cast global attention.
