Roma’s Jose Mourinho on Paris Saint-Germain links: “They didn’t talk to me”

Roma boss Jose Mourinho has played down the rumours that are linking the Portuguese with a move to French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

There have been reports in France that have spoken about how PSG have already spoken to Mourinho about becoming their manager next season. But Mourinho was asked about the rumours before the Giallorossi’s upcoming Europa League semi-final first leg against Bayer Leverkusen.

Mourinho responded to the rumours and stated: “Did PSG look for me? So they didn’t find me because they didn’t talk to me.”

Roma are currently struggling in the hunt for the top four and their draw against Monza and the loss to Inter makes it much more complex for them to qualify for the Champions League, unless they win the Europa League.

But it has been reported in Italy that Mourinho could be set to leave Roma if they do not make it to the Champions League next season, with Thiago Motta already identified as a replacement. There have been rumours about there being a certain amount of coldness in the relationship between Mourinho and sporting director Tiago Pinto, with the Friedkins yet to hand assurances to Mourinho regarding the club’s project.
