Roma’s move for Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku could close today

Serie A side Roma could close their move for Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku later, with today expected to be a decisive day in the move.

Sky Italia state today that after positive contacts took place yesterday between the two clubs about a loan move, no new contacts took place later on as Chelsea executives were in France to Strasbourg’s games. No face to face meetings took place but today is a decisive day in the saga.

An agreement exists between the two clubs and talks were on with Lukaku’s agents to agree details about wages. But today, all parties are keen on defining all the last remaining details of the move, with the player’s agent now negotiating the commission for the move.

Lukaku will leave €4 million on the table to accept Roma’s wage of €7.5 million per season and the countdown is now on. The local Roman press have also written about the possibility that Lukaku could be presented to the Giallorossi fans before the upcoming game against Milan.
