Serie A PREVIEW | Salernitana vs Milan

Scudetto holders Milan will return to action on Wednesday afternoon as they face mid-table Salernitana away from home.

The game is the first in eight weeks as the World Cup break took place, coming at prime time for Salernitana who were on a three match winless streak prior to the break.

The Rossoneri were very hot and cold prior to the break, a run of three wins in five games saw them sit 2nd in the table. They are trailing Napoli by eight points, which suggests that there is work to be done.

Despite Milan being clear favourites in the tie, the Granata will take confidence from the fact their last league loss to Milan was all the way back in 1998. This, coupled with the fact that Milan haven’t won either of their two previous away games, will offer promise to Davide Nicola’s side.

It has been over three years since Milan had an away run this bad, however it isn’t out of the question, the suffering could continue on Wednesday.

This being said, anything less than a Milan win would be a massive shock for Stefano Piolo’s men who will be eager to gain some ground on Napoli.

Predicted Line Ups

Salernitana (3-5-2): Sepe; Daniliuc, Bronn, Pirola; Candreva, Maggiore, Radovanovic, Coulibaly, Bradaric; Dia, Bonazzoli.

Milan (4-2-3-1): Tatarusanu; Calabria, Tomori, Kjaer, Hernandez; Tonali, Bennacer; Leao, Diaz, Saelemaekers; Giroud.
