SPAL close to sacking Daniele de Rossi

Serie B side SPAL are now close to sacking manager Daniele de Rossi, who had recently played a key role in signing Radja Nainggolan to the club.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that SPAL are close to axing the former Italy international and Roma midfielder. Talks have already been opened by Joe Tacopina in an attempt to hire Massimo Oddo, who has played with De Rossi for the Italian national team during his playing days.

With the sacking on De Rossi, the future of Nainggolan is also expected to be uncertain and the Belgian will soon decide on his future soon.

The SPAL stint is De Rossi’s first experience as manager of a senior team, whereas Oddo is much more experience and was most recently, in-charge of Padova in Serie C. He had come very close to getting the side promoted but missed out two chances and was sacked soon after that.
