Spezia to sack coach Luca Gotti

After Salernitana firing coach Davide Nicola and replacing him with Paulo Sousa, another Serie A side have decided to change and sack their manager.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Spezia will part ways with coach Luca Gotti. A clubโ€™s statement confirming the news is expected soon.

Spezia have won only one of their last seven Serie A games and after the 2-2 draw away at Empoli during the last weekend, they sit fourth to bottom only two points away from the relegation zone.

Luca Gotti has been fired the second season in a row as last year he was sacked by Udinese. Speziaโ€™s next game will be on Sunday at home against Juventus and itโ€™s possibile that a new coach wonโ€™t be available for that day forcing the board to fall back on an internal solution.

The main candidate to replace Luca Gotti is Leonardo Semplici, former SPAL and Cagliari coach, whoโ€™s in talks with the management since a couple of days but still has no agreement.
