Spezia to sack coach Luca Gotti

After Salernitana firing coach Davide Nicola and replacing him with Paulo Sousa, another Serie A side have decided to change and sack their manager.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Spezia will part ways with coach Luca Gotti. A club’s statement confirming the news is expected soon.

Spezia have won only one of their last seven Serie A games and after the 2-2 draw away at Empoli during the last weekend, they sit fourth to bottom only two points away from the relegation zone.

Luca Gotti has been fired the second season in a row as last year he was sacked by Udinese. Spezia’s next game will be on Sunday at home against Juventus and it’s possibile that a new coach won’t be available for that day forcing the board to fall back on an internal solution.

The main candidate to replace Luca Gotti is Leonardo Semplici, former SPAL and Cagliari coach, who’s in talks with the management since a couple of days but still has no agreement.
