Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia reach new heights in Napoli’s Spezia win

Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia were on the scoresheet for Napoli against Spezia and as a result, they reached new heights.

Napoli went 16 points clear at the top of the Serie A table, as Kvaratskhelia opened the scoring through his penalty early in the second half. Osimhen scored with a towering header before tapping home from Kvaratskhelia’s assist.

The Nigerian has 16 goals in Serie A this season and the striker has seven goals in their last five league games. He also has one assist during this period.

As per Opta though, the ex-Lille man has joined an elite rank of strikers for Napoli. He is only the 4th player in Napoli history to score at least 16 goals in the first 21 Serie A games of the season, as per Opta. He follows Luis Vinicio (1955/56), Edinson Cavani (2012/13) and Gonzalo Higuaín (2015/16).

Opta also state that even his Georgian teammate has reached new heights with his goal and assist, as he is only one of the five players in the top five European leagues to have atleast ten goals and ten assists. But he is the youngest of the lot, coming after Randal Kolo-Muani, Serge Gnabry, Lionel Messi and Neymar.
