Victor Osimhen creates new Napoli record following goal against Sassuolo

Victor Osimhen was at it again for Napoli in their Serie A game against Sassuolo, as he scored the Partenopei’s second goal at the Mapei.

One half of the famed duo at Napoli – Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, scored the first goal for the side and that was an incredible individual effort from the Gerogian. But Osimhen’s strike only minutes later was just as sensational, even though Andrea Consigli did make it easy for him.

Osimhen made a run between two centre-backs, held the ball away from them, made space for his shot and attempted for a goal from a tight angle. As a result of the goal, Osimhen etched history for the Partenopei.

He is now the first Napoli player in club history to score in seven consecutive games and he has gone past the record of Gonzalo Higuain, whose tally was matched by the Nigerian last weekend. But he has gone past Il Pipita’s record.
