Victor Osimhen unlikely to be fit for Champions League tie v Milan

Victor Osimhen is now said to be pushing hard to be fit for Napoli’s upcoming Champions League quarter-final first leg clash against Milan.

Osimhen had suffered an adductor injury right after the international break and it was certain to keep him out for about a week’s time. He had not featured in the league clash against Milan and had not played in the recent game against Cremonese, as the Partenopei won courtesy of an own-goal.

La Gazzetta dello Sport state that even today, Osimhen trained separately in the gym and on the pitch. He is pushing to be fit for the game but the club doctors believe that he will only feature if there is no risk of a relapse of the adductor injury. He will undergo a medical test on Tuesday morning to determine some certainties about his situation.

But he is yet to start training with the team and that is why his inclusion against Milan is quite unlikely. A decision will be made after the tests tomorrow.
