Zlatan Ibrahimović set to become Milan’s special counsel

Former Swedish striker and Milan legend Zlatan Ibrahimović is set to become the Rossoneri’s special counsel, taking over a unique role at the club.

Since his retirement, the Swede has been linked with a role with the club after he was present at the club’s training ground before the Champions League opener against Newcastle United. Talks with RedBird owner Gerry Cardinale have already been held.

Daniele Longo has reported that negotiations are in the final stretch for Ibra to return to the Rossoneri, as a vital meeting with Cardinale took place on Tuesday. Both parties are happy to work with each other, with Zlatan impressed by Cardinale’s vision for the club.

The ex-striker will not be part of the club’s management team, but he will act as a ‘special cousel’. He will be an external consultant, who will work closely with the management team and he will have a direct line with the club’s executives. The idea is to raise the club’s overall level using Zlatan’s ideas and now, only the final details of an agreement are missing.
