Italian international defender, Alessandro Buongiorno, looks likely to be unveiled as the latest addition to Antonio Conteโs new Napoli squad next week.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio (via calcionapolinews24.it), the 25-year-old centre-half will undergo his medical in the next 48 hours, before being announced as a new Napoli player ahead of the start of their pre-season training camp.
Buongiorno, who didnโt play any part in the Azzurriโs disastrous Euro 2024 campaign despite having an excellent season last term with Torino, has been tracked by Partenopei Sporting Director Giovanni Manna since Conteโs announcement that he would take over the reins at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Recent reports claimed that Inter were trying to hijack any deal and that Buongiorno was still undecided over his future. Di Marzio now claims that it looks as though the player has made up his mind and that his future will be with the 2023 Serie A champions.
