Assessing Paulo Dybala’s Roma future, release clause and potential new deal

Paulo Dybala grabbed his first Serie A hat-trick in seven years in Roma’s 3-2 win over Torino yesterday and he stated after the win that his future is uncertain at the Giallorossi.

Marco Conterio has reported about the situation of the Argentine, stating that while the future is uncertain, the player is keen on staying at the Giallorossi. While there is no certainty about what will happen in the summer, his current deal runs out in the summer of 2025 and not in 2024.

In the summer though, he will have a release clause of €12 million, which will be valid for the entire month of July. If an Italian club offers that amount, Roma will have a say about whether they want to accept it or not. But if a club from abroad offers it, the decision will come down to the player.

Roma want to keep the player and insert a release clause in a new deal which is higher than the current one. They could also look to fully remove the release clause completely. The club’s owners believe that the arrival of Tommaso Baldanzi will not affect Dybala’s future. Only time will tell what happens.
