Aston Villa interested in Napoli’s Giovanni di Lorenzo

Premier League side Aston Villa are interested in the possibility of landing Napoli defender Giovanni di Lorenzo in the summer transfer window.

While one Italian in Nicolo Zaniolo will head away from Villa in the summer, another could potentially be on the way. Il Mattino (via CN24) have reported that Di Lorenzo could become a key target for the English side in the summer and he is currently considering departing the Partenopei at the end of the season.

Villa, it is reported, are keen on making a considerable offer to sign the right-back and they are interested in the club captain. Di Lorenzo is currently said to be reflecting on his future at the Maradona, with the player having previously attracted the attention of Spanish giants Atletico Madrid as well but he is said to be tempted by the possibility of playing in England.

The Italian was key to Napoli’s Scudetto win last season but his performances have faded, as have the performances of the whole team.
