Serie A side Genoa are looking to sign a free agent in the next few days, as their squad seems to be depleted due to injuries.
Ruslan Malinovskyiโs serious injury has been followed by Vitinhaโs injury, with Andrea Pinamonti also struggling infront of goal. Balotelli has now emerged as a potential option.
Secolo XIX have stated that there have been contacts between the two parties and there is willingness on Genoaโs part to understand if they can sign another player or not. There is yet to be an approval from the clubโs ownership, which is in process of moving on due to their own financial issues.
Alberto Gilardino is interested in the option, with Balotelli having been proposed to Genoa some weeks ago.ย
At the same time, La Gazzetta dello Sport state that Gilardino isnโt quite keen on the possibility of signing Balotelli and he is generally against signing older free agents. The doubts around the clubโs ownership has made sure that whether Genoa actually sign the player or not is not known.
