Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini has said that La Dea are in their best moment ahead of the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen.
La Dea have a chance at creating history today, as they look to break Bayer Leverkusenโs unbeaten streak and they look to win their first ever title in Europe. It will also be their first piece of silverware since 2011, when won the Serie B and it will also be the first title in Gasperiniโs managerial career.
With the Europa League final just house away, Gasperini spoke to the press ahead of the game and he believes that Atalanta are currently in their best moment ahead of the all important clash.
The Italian said: โWe are probably in the best moment. The fact of having secured the Champions League on Sunday is something very precious to us.โ
Gasperini also spoke about Leverkusen and their quality and he had big praise for Xabi Alonsoโs side.
โItโs a strong team, thereโs no doubt. Not only for the results but for the solutions that led them to achieve extraordinary results.โ
Gianluca Scamacca had missed the Coppa Italia final but the striker is now back to fitness and will feature today. On his return, Gasperini said:
โScamacca has had a remarkable evolution in recent months, not only in terms of goals. With the return of Scamacca, Lookman and De Ketelaere, Atalantaโs attack is complete and ready to cause problems for Bayer.โ
