Inter level iconic Milan sideโ€™s record in Supercoppa Italiana triumph

Inter have now levelled the iconic Milan sideโ€™s record after their win over Napoli in the Supercoppa Italiana final.

Napoli had gone down to ten men after Giovanni Simeoneโ€™s sending off in the second half and while they did manage to hold on for a while, Lautaro Martinezโ€™s strike in stoppage time handed the Nerazzurri a win that took them to another Supercoppa Italiana win.

It was the clubโ€™s second consecutive Supercoppa Italiana win under Simone Inzaghi and their third consecutive win in general. But the win created a new record for the club, as they matched Milanโ€™s record in 1994, as the Rossoneri were the last team to win the Supercoppa Italiana three times in a row back then.

The win also means that Simone Inzaghi has now won the Supercoppa Italiana twice, the Coppa Italia once and has reached the Champions League final. And before yesterday, they were at the top of the Serie A table as well.
