Interโ€™s Francesco Acerbi agreed new deal days before racism scandal

Inter defender Francesco Acerbi had actually agreed a new deal with the Serie A giants days before his racism scandal in the game against Napoli.

The Italianโ€™s racism case against Napoliโ€™s Juan Jesus will see a decision made next week, with the defender having spoken to the Prosecutor earlier today. Pasquale Guarro has reported about the Italian, who had actually agreed to sign a new Inter deal days before the incident with Jesus.

He had agreed to sign a deal till the summer of 2026, with the option of extending it till the summer of 2027. Inter wouldโ€™ve had the option to unilaterally terminate his contract in 2027, which is similar to the deal signed previously by Danilo Dโ€™Ambrosio and Mark Arnautovic.

Acerbiโ€™s situation is currently uncertain, but the report states that talk about an exit is premature but the renewal which was agreed would not influence Interโ€™s choice about their decision regarding the player. The contract has virtually been agreed, but Inter arenโ€™t moving too quickly.
