Premier League side Arsenal seem set to seal a move to Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori and the details of the move have now emerged.
Calafiori, at one point, seemed set to join Juventus but Bolognaโs asking price increased and Arsenal have beaten competition from Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen to seal the move.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TuttoBologna) have reported that Arsenalโs move stands at a total of โฌ53 million and Bologna will pay 50 percent of that to Basel, who had sold the Italian to the Rossoblu initially. They are essentially making a profit of โฌ22 million on the fee they initially shelled out for him.
Calafiori himself preferred Arsenal over Chelsea and he will earn โฌ4 million per season in his deal at the Emirates. The Italianโs price tag increased during the Euros and this made sure that Juveโs candidature failed and Arsenal emerged as a key contender.
