Max Allegri after Juventus’ 2-1 loss to Napoli: “We are still second”

Juventus boss Max Allegri has revealed his satisfaction with the performance against Napoli, while stating that they are happy with the fact that they are still second in the table.

The Bianconeri went behind through a Khvicha Kvaratskhelia goal in the first half. Federico Chiesa did draw level late in the game but Juve conceded a penalty only some minutes later. Victor Osimhen did scuff his penalty but it was struck home on the rebound by Giacomo Raspadori, who scored against Juve once again after doing the same last season.

Despite the defeat, Juve remain second in the table even though the gap with Inter would increase to 15 points tomorrow in what could be impossible to bridge.

Allegri spoke to the media after the game and stated (via TMW):

“Tonight the boys played a good game, even in the first half we had good opportunities and we weren’t able to exploit them. These are all growth steps to be taken, we need to improve in balance and not playing below the pace of the game. We are still second in the table, we still have eleven games to reach our goal.”

Dusan Vlahovic had hit the post in the first half and in stoppage time, Daniele Rugani had missed a sitter from close range and it can be rightly stated that Juve created enough to get something from the game.
