Napoli are keen on Rennes defender Arthur Theate and have agreed personal terms with the defender.
The Partenopei have long been looking for a new defender this month and it seems they are making some progress. La Repubblica state that the club already has an agreement over personal terms, having agreed to pay โฌ2.5 million per season on a four-year deal to the Belgium international.
Rennes too have opened up for the sale of the defender and value him between โฌ18 million and โฌ20 million, with Napoli currently stuck at โฌ15 million and that includes bonuses and a fixed fee. The negotiations for the deal arenโt easy because of the limited time left in the window, but Napoli are still trying.
The alternative to Theate is Salzburgโs Oumar Solet, but the Partenopei higher-ups see Theate as a key target as Walter Mazzarri is said to be a huge fan and attempts will be made to land the 23-year-old.
