Napoli agree personal terms with Rennes’ Arthur Theate

Napoli are keen on Rennes defender Arthur Theate and have agreed personal terms with the defender.

The Partenopei have long been looking for a new defender this month and it seems they are making some progress. La Repubblica state that the club already has an agreement over personal terms, having agreed to pay €2.5 million per season on a four-year deal to the Belgium international.

Rennes too have opened up for the sale of the defender and value him between €18 million and €20 million, with Napoli currently stuck at €15 million and that includes bonuses and a fixed fee. The negotiations for the deal aren’t easy because of the limited time left in the window, but Napoli are still trying.

The alternative to Theate is Salzburg’s Oumar Solet, but the Partenopei higher-ups see Theate as a key target as Walter Mazzarri is said to be a huge fan and attempts will be made to land the 23-year-old.
