New record shows Inter’s dominance in Europe this season

Serie A league leaders Inter grabbed a 4-0 win over Atalanta yesterday and in that process, they showed their dominance in Europe once again.

Lautaro Martinez scored once and a goal each from Davide Frattesi, Federico Dimarco and Matteo Darmian set Inter on their way in the game, as they went 12 points clear at the top of the Serie A table and they pretty much now have one hand on the Scudetto already.

But in the win over Atalanta, Inter scored four times and as a result, they have now scored more times than anyone else in the top five European leagues, as per Opta. They have scored 67 goals in the Serie A, which is four more than both Liverpool and Bayern Munich as they are tied at second with 63 goals. Arsenal have 62 goals.

Martinez himself has now scored 23 times out of those 62, which shows how well-oiled Inter are as a team. Marcus Thuram has scored ten times and Hakan Calhanoglu has scored nine goals. Wing-back Federico Dimarco himself has scored four times so far.
