Roma set for squad revolution with new sporting director Florent Ghisolfi

Serie A side Roma are set to reshuffle their squad under oncoming sporting director Florent Ghisolfi.

According to a report by Daniele Longo, Roma are set to provide the task of reducing the wage bill and bringing affordable reinforcements to new sporting director Florent Ghisolfi, who will join the club after leaving Ligue 1 outfits OGC Nice.

The new director will have to accomplish the complex assignment of onboarding players in a club struggling with Financial Fair Play.

Players like Rui Patricio, Dean Huijsen, Diego Llorente, Rasmus Kristensen Leonardo Spinazzola, Renato Sanches, Sardar Azmoun and Romelu Lukaku are set to leave the Giallorossi as their respective permanent contracts or loans expire this summer. As of now, only Angelino performed well enough to stay at the club and therefore Roma will pay the €5 million to Leipzig to materialise a permanent transfer.

Roma have transfer listed Nicola Zalewski, Houssem Aouar, Rick Karsdorp and Zeki Celik. Florent Ghisolfi’s job will be to get good value for the players in the market as well as bring replacements for the depleted positions, working alongside manager Daniele De Rossi.
