Simone Inzaghi set to sign new Inter deal

Serie A winners Inter have renewed Simone Inzaghi’s contract as head coach of the club.

According to a report by Filippo Conticello of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio announced yesterday that Simone Inzaghi’s renewal is simply “a formality”. The Italian manager looks set with the Nerazzurri and never had any ideas of going abroad.

This new contract puts the Scudetto-winning manager at the helm of the club beyond 2025 and Inter wanted to get his renewal done before approaching the new season.

Simone Inzaghi signed a €4 million net per season deal in 2021 when he was appointed as the head coach and now he is set to get a raise of 30 per cent with his new contract. Inter feel that this is a necessary investment as he has been an influential figure at the club and the person behind their 20th Serie A title.

Inter won’t have to make any major financial adjustments to the new deal and talks are expected to be concluded rapidly. A meeting about the renewal is likely to take place after Inter’s upcoming clash against Lazio and it will likely be an initial two-year deal with the option for a third.
