Why Leicester City’s move for Inter’s Stefano Sensi collapsed

For a long while yesterday, it seemed as if Stefano Sensi’s Serie A stint was ending and he would join Championship side Leicester City. But at the end, all efforts proved futile as the move fell through.

FCInter1908 have reported about some details regarding why the move didn’t go through. It is stated that Sensi did have a medical with Leicester in England and it proved to be a successful one. But after that, the move didn’t progress due to FFP issues at the Foxes’ end.

Leicester were not able to complete the permanent signing as FFP didn’t allow for that to happen. Sensi will now return to Milan and would be available to Simone Inzaghi’s side till the end of the season, with his current contract at the Nerazzurri expiring in the summer transfer window.

Sensi spent the last season on loan at Monza and did well during that stint, but he hasn’t quite played too often in the first-team at Inter.
