Inter have a huge clash later tonight as they travel to Spain to face Barcelona in semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. It is a massive occassion and both clubs will have to be at their absolute best. As kickoff approaches, let us look at 5 of the most interesting stats about this game.
1. Barcelona have lost just 1 game in 2025. After they ended 2024 in terrible fashion, Barca have been on the losing side just once in the first 4 months of 2025. They have 23 wins, 4 draws and the loss came in the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal against Dortmund, suffering a 3-1 loss after having won the first leg 4-0 at home.
2. Inter have lost all of their last 3 games, across competitions. This has included 1-0 losses to Bologna and Roma which have dented their Serie A pursuit and a 3-0 defeat at home in a Milan derby in the Coppa Italia. Immediate improvement is needed if they want to beat Barcelona.
3. The last time Inter faced Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Champions League was in 2009/2010, when they won the tie 3-2 and subsequently the Champions League that season under Jose Mourinho. The Nerrazzuri will be hoping for a repeat of that performance, especially given that they had won the first leg 3-1 on that occasion.
4. Barca are unbeaten in their last six home games against Inter Milan in the Champions League, with five wins and one draw. This five-win streak against Inter equals their record for most home wins against a single opponent in the competition (also five against AC Milan). (via OptaJose)
5. Interโs record away against Spanish sides makes for pretty bad reading. The Nerrazzuri havenโt won in Spain in their last 11 games, with their last such win having come way back in the 2004/05 season when they beat Valencia 5-1 at the Mestalla.
The odds are seemingly stacked up against Inter for this one but to win the Champions League, odds have to be beaten.
