Bolognaโ€™s Jhon Lucumi can seek legal aid for Sunderland move

Over the last week or so, Sunderland have been working on a move for Bolognaโ€™s Jhon Lucumi after an offer was made for the defender.

Rossoblu director Claudio Fenucci then made it clear that the Colombian wasnโ€™t for sale, leading to Lucumiโ€™s agent making it clear that he wants to leave.

Il Resto del Carlino report today that the player is interested in a move to Sunderland but Bolognaโ€™s stance is firm.

There is now a possibility that the player and his agent could refer to article 17 of FIFA. This regulation provides for the possibility for a player to be released in exchange for compensation after three years have passed since the signing of the contract, provided that it was signed before he turned 28.

This suggests that Bolognaโ€™s power in the situation is reducing, especially Sunderlandโ€™s offer of โ‚ฌ30 million is still on the table.
