Milanโs poor season in the Serie A means that a lot of their attention has already shifted to the summer transfer window. A lot of incomings and outgoings are expected in the summer, and no one is considered safe. Mike Maignan who till last season would have been considered indispensable is no longer so and several doubts have arisen regarding the renewal of his contract.
The Frenchmanโs current contract expires next summer, in 2026. Talks about a possible new deal havenโt progressed as expected, despite an agreement in principle and have been further hurt by the goalkeeperโs below-par performances this season. There is interest, especially from the Premier League. As per TMWโs Nicolo Ceccarini, Chelsea and Aston Villa have already asked about the player. If Milan are to avoid losing Maignan for free, they must sell him this summer.
However all of that must wait as Milan first look to appoint a sporting director after a break down in talks with Fabio Paratici.
