In what is in all probability set to be their last business on transfer Deadline Day, Inter have secured a loan deal for Manuel Akanji from Manchester City. It is a one year loan deal worth โฌ1 million, with a โฌ15 million option to buy, which becomes mandatory if the Nerrazzuri win the Scudetto. The Swiss international is expected to arrive tonight for a medical as per Gazzetta.it.
Deemed surplus at requirements at City, Akanji will take over the right centre-back/right-back role at Inter, which has been vacated by Benjamin Pavard today. Pavard is heading to his home country France for the first time since 2016 to play for Marseille. He spent two seasons at Inter.
Inter will get a loan fee of โฌ2.5 million for the Frenchman, with an option to make it permanent for โฌ15 million. Pavard played a crucial role in Interโs Scudetto win in 2024/25 but spent a large part of last season out injured.
