Juventusโ Timothy Weah has constantly been linked with an exit from the Serie A side and just when a move to Marseille seemed close, there are disagreements about the playerโs valuation.
La Gazzetta dello Sport reported today that Juve are asking for โฌ20 million to sell the USA international and Marseille have put forward โฌ15 million. This approach from the Old Lady attracted criticism from Weahโs agent Badou Sambague.
Now, Sambague has spoken to Get Italian Football News about the situation of his client, urging Juventus to respect Weahโs wishes about a transfer.
He told GIFN today: โFor the players, we cannot speak purely from the question of business, if you cannot make a deal with the club.โ
โI donโt care about making a deal with the club (Marseille, in this case). We have to respect the player, especially if the player is on the right path or more than just on the right path.โ
This does indicate that Weahโs wishes are not being taken into account, with Sambague previously having taken a shot at the Juve management and indicating that someone at the club is forcing the American out, as it was evident when Nottingham Forest came calling last month.
The Bianconeri have shown similar signs of prioritising capital gains in the cases of multiple other players and their own academy graduates in the last year or so and in a way, they are adhering to a similar approach in Weahโs case.
