Fiorentina reach agreement with Genoa for Albert Gudmundsson

Serie A side Fiorentina were initially against the idea of signing Albert Gudmundsson on a permanent basis from Genoa but developments have taken place in the scenario.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that La Viola have managed to get a discount in the deal for the Iceland international, who is increasingly close to joining Fiorentina once again.

There is a verbal agreement between the two clubs about a renewed deal, which will be lower than the obligation of โ‚ฌ19 million which was inserted in the loan deal. The new agreement will cost Fiorentina a fee of โ‚ฌ13 million.

24th June, which is today, was the last day for Fiorentina to exercise the option to buy for โ‚ฌ19 million. La Viola were trying to agree a deal on discounted deal, but now they would have to pay a fee of โ‚ฌ2 million penalty for failing to execute the obligation to buy on time.
