Former Inter defender Milan Skriniar refuses to rule out Milan move

Serie A side Milan were briefly linked with a move for Milan Skriniar early in the summer transfer window. Nothing materialised but the defender has now been asked about his interest in a switch to the San Siro.

The centre-back spoke to MilanNews and when asked about interest from Milan, he said: โ€œIโ€™ve never spoken to Milan. Iโ€™ve never had any contact with the club. Even my agent knew nothing about this.โ€

When asked about whether he would be interested in a switch to the Rossoneri, Skriniar said that nothing is impossible and anything can happen.

โ€œNothing is impossible. Never say never. Letโ€™s see what happens. I have a four-year contract at Fenerbahce and Iโ€™m happy there. The people love me and the fans are wonderful. I also have a good relationship with the club. Iโ€™ve found consistency again and Iโ€™m happy.โ€

โ€œIโ€™ve also improved in terms of performance and I want to continue. Iโ€™m thirty years old, time flies very quickly. Plus, in todayโ€™s transfer market everyone wants younger players. Letโ€™s see what happens, but Iโ€™m very happy in Istanbul and I still want to do many things there.โ€

Skriniar was also asked to compare the Istanbul derby to the Milan derby and he revealed that he is still in awe of the San Siro.

โ€œWe know the fans in Turkey are really crazy. Fener-Gala is a huge derby, but for the fans, Fener-Trabzonspor is even crazier. But San Siro, as a stadium, as a history, and as everything else, always leaves you with something extra. Iโ€™ve only played the derby at home in the Cup, which is a bit different. But Iโ€™m happy that now I can finally play the Istanbul derby in the league.โ€

The defender won the Scudetto with Inter under Antonio Conte but later left to join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer. Things didnโ€™t work out for him in France and he now finds himself at Fenerbahce.
