Juventus Director of Football Strategy Giorgio Chiellini has definitively ruled out Khéphren Thuram leaving the club, firmly stating that the midfielder is central to the club’s future plans, according to comments made to DAZN and relayed by Calciomercato.
Chiellini spoke prior to the Juventus match against Bologna, addressing transfer speculation linking Thuram with a possible exit amid rumours of a swap deal with Inter Milan for Davide Frattesi.
“I won’t talk about Frattesi, I think it would be a lack of respect towards Inter,” Chiellini stated, dismissing the speculation about the Inter midfielder.
However, he was clear on Thuram’s situation, shutting down any possibility of a January departure for the France midfielder.
“One thing is certain: Thuram is and will remain a Juventus player. We do not want to deprive ourselves of him; on the contrary, we want to build the future with him,” he confirmed.
The statement serves as a strong declaration of intent from the Juventus hierarchy, insisting that the Frenchman is not for sale and is considered a cornerstone for the club’s long-term project.
There have been suggestions that Juve did hold a meeting with the entourage of Frattesi but so far, no major developments have taken place yet.
