Serie A side Cremonese take on Verona later today and it could see Jamie Vardy make his debut for the new club.
The striker had spoken to the press about the transfer in his first press conference as a Cremonese player, but he has now spoken exclusively to DAZN about his life in Cremona and how he is settled into a new environment.
Ahead of his Serie A debut, the Englishman said: โEvery week, itโs not about who youโre playing against, itโs what you do as a team and thatโs what weโre just going to concentrate on. Theyโre all going to be difficult. Everyone wants to get three points. I might have to adapt slightly, but itโs something that Iโm looking forward to doing.โ
The 39-year-old was also asked about his decision to join Davide Nicolaโs side and he revealed that once he made the choice, there was no going back.
โOnce I made my decision, that was it. I was coming here. Iโm settling in really well and just canโt wait to get going now. Itโs all about match days and wanting to pick the results up, so now itโs about just knuckling down when I get given the opportunity, helping my teammates out as much as I can and hopefully chipping in with some goals.โ
The former Leicester City star also had praise for Nicola and how he wants to see Cremonese grow.
โThe passion that heโs got for the football club and for the football itself, and how he wants to progress and wanting a team of fighters โ that was me down to a tee.โ
Cremonese can make it three wins on the bounce today and they can make history if that happens, having never won three games in a row in the top-flight. It remains to be seen if Vardy starts but he could have a role to play in the game.
