Juventus have reportedly slammed the door on AC Milan’s initial attempts to bring Federico Gatti to the San Siro. According to a recent update from Daniele Longo, the Bianconeri have firmly rejected a loan-with-option-to-buy offer from the Rossoneri for the Italian defender.
The interest stems directly from Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri, who has identified his former pupil as the ideal candidate to reinforce a defensive unit currently struggling with both numbers and form. Despite Gatti being on the mend from a meniscus injury suffered earlier this month, Allegri remains convinced of the player’s tactical fit and grit.
While Juventus are dealing with their own defensive emergency and they currently view Gatti as “not for sale.” Milan’s attempt to secure a temporary deal with a future purchase option was deemed insufficient by the Turin hierarchy, who are protected by the player’s long-term contract running until 2030.
The refusal hasn’t completely killed the conversation, however. Rumors persist that Milan could return with a different formula, potentially involving players like Samuele Ricci or Koni De Winter in a swap deal to entice Juventus. For now, though, the “Old Lady” is holding firm, unwilling to strengthen a direct rival for the Champions League spots without a significant permanent offer.
