Looking back on a chaotic deadline day for Serie A sides

The transfer deadline day is always a chaotic part of transfer windows and yesterday was no less. While the Premier League was rather silent, the Serie A was awash with chaos and quick deals being done across the league.

Milan, Roma and Fiorentina were highly active. La Viola confirmed three signings โ€“ Cher Ndour, Nicolo Zaniolo and Nicolo Fagioli, with the midfielder arriving late in the dat after a series of talks with Juventus.

Milan brought in four signings โ€“ including Santiago Gimenez. Warren Bondo arrived as Ismael Bennacer joined Marseille. Riccardo Sottil joined from Fiorentina and Joao Felix also joined on loan from Chelsea.

The drama didnโ€™t end there as Roma sealed three moves and work was primarily done on deadline day. Victor Nelsson arrived from Galatasaray after a move for Saba Goglichidze didnโ€™t take off. Lucas Gourna-Douath arrived from Salzburg and earlier in the day, Anass Salah Eddine had joined from Twente.

At the same time, Juventus were left in a rush to complete a move for Lloyd Kelly. Paperwork issues, at one point, risked the move from going through. The move was confirmed late in the day.

Lazio sealed moves for Veronaโ€™s Reda Belahyane and Vejleโ€™s Oliver Provstgaard and there could have been more moves, if they had moved on other players.

Napoli, interestingly enough, could not seal a move for Pietro Comuzzo and had to bring in a temporary replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Noah Okafor arrived from Milan after having failed a medical with RB Leipzig earlier in the window.

Meanwhile in Bergamo, Atalanta sealed a move for Stefan Posch, who had been seeking a move away from Bologna and he finally joined Gian Piero Gasperiniโ€™s side.

Torino, who were in a constant rush throughout January, finally landed a striker in Amine Salama, who arrived on loan from Reims. Veteran Cristiano Biraghi, who was out of favour at Fiorentina, also joined Il Toro on a loan deal with the option to buy.
