Serie A giants Milan want to bolster their backline and have made contact with Manchester City for Manuel Akanji.
La Gazzetta dello Sportโs Luca Bianchin has reported that the Swiss defender is Milanโs main target for the backline and his versatility is playing a key role for why he has quickly risen up the Rossoneriโs shortlist.
He can play across the back three with ease and Max Allegri wants a player of that type. Contact has been made with Manchester City and it shouldnโt be too difficult for the two clubs to reach an agreement, considering how Galatasaray previously reached an agreement worth โฌ15 million.
This fee is affordable for Milan, but the problem is represented by the 30-year-oldโs wages. Akanji earns โฌ5 million per season and Milan want him to reduce that demand. If the defender reduces his wage demand to โฌ3.5 million, a deal can be done.
