Napoli send official offer to Jonathan David for a free transfer

Serie A side Napoli have submitted an official offer to Lille striker Jonathan David for a free transfer this summer.

According to an update by Fabrizio Romano, Napoli have made progress in the race to sign Jonathan David and have sent a proposal with advanced talks going on.

This news arrives after an earlier update claimed that the Canadian forward’s agents landed in Naples to negotiate a possible move with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

The Partenopei will not have to pay a transfer fee to Lille since the player’s contract expires next month. However, David’s salary demands along with his agent’s commissions, remain a source of headache for Napoli.

Details regarding the proposal are yet to be disclosed but it seems that Napoli is the next destination for the in-form striker.

David has scored 25 goals and registered nine assists across all competitions this season. Lille’s demand of a €50 million transfer fee last season and in January delayed his departure from the French side but now all is set for his exit.
